Inspired by this week’s excerpt from the novel Kimbé by Benjamin Kisoni, we’re featuring a bonus story, a photo album of life in Beni, Bunia, and Niakunde. These towns are located in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, near its border with Uganda. This is the real-life context in which Kisoni’s fictional story takes place.
