Profile: <a href="https://catherine-ricoul.blogspot.de/">Catherine Ricoul</a> aime les bords de mer et ceux des fleuves et elle arpente les marges, celles des villes surtout ou celles glacées du Grand nord. Carnets, journaux de bord, et installations ont été les premiers objets artistiques issus de ces expériences. Puis elle a commencé un travail de films documentaires à Berlin, ville où elle vit plusieurs mois par an. Depuis 2012, via le projet <a href="https://social.shorthand.com/BerlinSurSpree/u2Tb3P94SUf/berlin-a-contre-courant">«Berlin à contre-courant» </a>, elle observe et filme les marges de Berlin, celles de son fleuve au travers des portraits de Berlinois les ayant investis, les projets de campements «pirates», de radeaux construits «avec les moyens du bord» et elle analyse ainsi comment des énergies, collectives ou individuelles, se réapproprient ou recréent des espaces pas encore confisqués par la ville en développement. Depuis 2019, elle réalise des films dans son atelier berlinois, des <a href="https://catherine-ricoul.wixsite.com/movies/stopmotion-projects">films en stop-motion </a>pour les grands et les petits. <p style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> </p> <a href="https://catherine-ricoul.blogspot.de/">Catherine Ricoul</a> is a French visual artist in collage and photography who lives and works in Marseille, France, and Berlin, Germany. As a visual artist, she chose to become a documentary filmmaker after several years in Berlin where she witnessed the transformations of the city that are still ongoing. She decided to film these urban, ecological, and social changes to show how people manage their “right to the public space” and their will to live their dreams in a sustainable way.
